October 8, 2009
Dr. Paul Thomas, Duff Roblin Professor of Government at the University of Manitoba, has officially taken a stand for the call for disability legislation.
Thomas has received widespread recognition for his distinguished contributions to public policy and is a member of the Order of Manitoba.
Dr. Thomas told Barrier-Free Manitoba the disability legislation debate affects all Manitobans.
"Strong and effective accessibility-rights legislation not only promises to address systemic human rights issues," he said. "It will also enhance accessibility for all Manitobans, a benefit that will become increasingly important with the aging of the population."
