Supervisor, Ethno Cultural Program - Full Time - Competition # 58-09
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan, direct and manage the provision of the services within the Ethno Cultural Program. Understand departmental goals and objectives and ensure departmental activities are aligned with best practices. Identify service gaps and areas of changing need. Propose program changes and /or development to meet departmental needs.
- Provide effective leadership and coordination, ensuring all staff have a clear understanding of the shared commitment to the program mandate and service delivery model. Direct timely and responsive decision making through the establishment of delegation and accountability.
- Prepare, with support of Director, annual budgets and capital budget with respect to the areas of responsibility. Monitor unit expenses, in support of the development of SMD Services consolidated budget for review by the Director.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate and direct staff training needs and recommended input strategies.
- Manage all client data including intake, ongoing and discharge, and related data management and filing systems – both hard copy and electronic.
GENERAL ACCOUNTIBILITIES:
- Conduct regular scheduled meetings with all staff to review program activities; communicate expectations; advise on policy changes and share information of a general interest to the program.
- Provide regular supervision/consultation to staff through a system of workload monitoring, file review and plan approval.
- Function as a liaison with major funding clients and funding sources so as to ensure maximum benefit to clients.
- Provide support and/or direction to staff on advocacy issues and activities as required in support of individual consumer as well as system needs.
- Coordinate monthly and annual reports on program activity and performance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of formal program evaluation methods to measure program outcomes, efficiency, and consumer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to privacy and confidentiality as outlined in professional standards of practice, agency, provincial and federal guidelines.
- Other duties (that fall within the scope of this position) as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post Secondary degree in the Human Services Field. Previous experience in working within the multicultural field is an asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with people with disabilities and diverse cultures.
· At least two years of direct supervisory experience.
· Previous experience working in the human service field is an asset.
· Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
· Excellent Organizational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Possess excellent computer skills.
· Valid Manitoba Drivers license.
· Some evenings and weekend work required.
