Available Workshops

There are several different education and training workshops available through SMD's Community Inclusion and Support Services Department, and each can be tailored to specific businesses or situations.

Available workshops include:

  • Disability Awareness/Sensitivity Workshops
  • Employment of People with Disabilities
  • Effective Presentations
  • People with Disabilities in the Workforce
  • Adaptive Recreation
  • Inclusion of Children with Disabilities into Recreation Programs and Library Services
  • Disability and Culture
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Disability Awareness Sessions within the School System (for both students and teachers)

There are also additional workshops offered through available through SMD, all of which are professionally facilitated by the Department, including:

  • Deafness and Deaf Culture
  • Level 1 and Level 2 “You Wheelie Ought to Know More about Wheelchairs”
  • Summer Staff Training
  • Proper Lifting and Transferring Techniques Within an Aquatic Setting
